Promotions give results, export target raised to 1 million dollars
Ceramics Promotion Group Chairman Bahadır Kayan, who said that by this major organization, Turkey was promoted in addition to Turkish ceramics, added; “The show drew great interest in Italy; it will contribute to new opportunities for our firms in making global endeavors. We are raising our efforts to enhance the brand value of Turkish ceramic ware to the highest level. Our country is among the top three in the global trade of ceramics. Ceramics industry creates a very important value added for our country. In our future activities, we will strengthen not only our industry but the brand of Turkey as a whole”.
Kayan, who said that “The number of export destination countries increased in parallel with the rise in production”, continued to say; “Presently we export to 125 countries as our industry. We believe that the way for undergoing minimum losses due to the global crisis affecting many countries is keeping exports alive. The ceramics industry is always among the top five in world rankings. Turkey, on the other hand is among the top three in world ceramics trade. It is very important for our country’s economy that exports continue”.
Kayan, drawing attention to the fact that the activities of the Ceramics Promotion Group which gained speed in 2007, reflected upon the industry positively, drew attention to the fact that ceramic production and consumption grew globally and state-of-the-art technology was being used for ceramic ware produced in Turkey. Kayan said; “This is not a coincidence. Our industry gets its power from its monitoring of innovative technology, its well trained manpower and our ceramics habits inherent in our culture. Our manufacturers employ designers in their companies and also work with designers abroad. The total ceramics exports of Turkey are presently at a level of 800 million Dollars. The industry did not modify its targets even in this setting of crisis, thanks to the promotional activities carried out. We want to continue with our exports despite all our problems on energy costs. Our target is $ 1 million exports by the end of 2009.
