Izmir Rotary Club 10th Golden Jug Ceramic Contest

Izmir Rotary Club holds the 10th Golden Jug Ceramic Contest at Izmir Paintings and Sculptures Museum from April 29 until May 13, 2008. The theme of the ceramic contest based on promoting artistic events in ceramics, developing artistic power and encouraging fine artists, is the Ceramic Form which incorporates all applications, technical and technological.

At the contest which has a jury comprising Prof. Ateş Arcasoy, (Marmara Univ. FFA Ceramics Department Member of Faculty) Bingül Başarır, (Ceramic Fine Artist-Member International Ceramics Academy Prof. Sevim Çizer,  (DEU FFA Ceramics Department Head) Prof. Hamiye Çolakoğlu, (Ceramic Fine Artist) Tüzüm Kızılcan, (Ceramic Fine Artist) Prof. Gönül Öney, (Art Historian) Doç. Oktay Şahinler, (Dokuz Eylül Univ. FFA Department of Sculpture Member of Faculty) and  Mustafa Tunçalp  (Ceramic Fine Artists-Çanakkale Seramik Art Consultant), the winner of the Golden Jug Ceramic Contest Special Prize receives 12 Gold coins and the Golden Jug symbol (work winning the 10th GJC Special Prize will be given to Izmir Rotary Club without any purchase price with all usage rights to belong to Izmir Rotary Club) with the first prize winner getting 10 gold coins and the Golden Jug symbol, the 2nd prize winner getting 7 gold coins and the Golden Jug symbol,and the 3rd prize winner getting 5 gold coins and the Golden Jug symbol, three honorable mentions getting 3 gold coins each and the Golden Jug symbol. Also, youth prize (under 26) company awards will be handed out.

In the contest which is open to all fine artists over 17 years of age, to which contestants may participate in with one work each, the works must be from years 2007-2008, must not be exhibited or have won any award in any other contest. The works must be delivered in person to Izmir Paintings and Sculptures Museum until 17:00 April 12-13-14, 2008.

The opening and the awards ceremony of the contest will be held in a cocktail party at Izmir Paintings and Sculptures Museum at 18:00 Tuesday, April 29, 2008. The artists may get their works back at the end of the exhibition.
